Boutique music production

It started as a voice memo.

You bring the song—even if it’s a phone recording or rough demo. Freaksonics turns it into a fully produced, release-ready record.

01 / Process

One song.
Three moves.

No assembly line. The production is built around what your song needs, with the scope, revision rounds, and turnaround agreed before we begin.

01

Send the demo

A voice memo, phone recording, rough mix—whatever you’ve got. The idea matters more than the fidelity.

02

Build the production

Arrangement, live instrumentation, session players where they count, and a mix that serves the song.

03

Release the record

A finished, mixed, mastered production—delivered and ready to leave the voice-memo era behind.

02 / Services

A way in
for every idea.

Every song is different. Choose the closest starting point, then tell me what you’re hearing.

04 / About

Inside the
control room.

James is a producer, sound designer, audio engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. He plays much of each production himself—trumpet included—and calls in world-class session-player friends when a song needs another voice. A former NYC concert promoter and a production teacher, he’s spent years on both sides of the music: helping artists find the idea, then building the room around it.

Based in southern Maine, working remotely with songwriters everywhere.

05 / Testimonials

Kind words.

Absolutely phenomenal. James' attention to detail, craftsmanship, and dedication to quality is everything you'd hope for and more. It was a joy to work with him and I can't recommend him highly enough.

Holy s***, this track sounds SO much better. It's like it went from being two-dimensional to three-dimensional

A Consummate Musician! James is great! He's a multi-instrumentalist who's worked with some big producers and artists across genres, so was well suited instruct me on how I could get started on my music production journey, and how to deepen my intuition so that I can find a stronger voice in my writing. Can talk to him about almost any genre or music topic and he'll have good perspective (he's also taught at college settings so knows how to communicate his ideas well)!

What you did to this song completely blows my mind, no pun
